The Reading Plan is central to aWalkThroughTheWord.com. Each day we will provide you with passage(s) of scripture that will take you through the journey that is God's Word.

  Welcome!

aWalkThroughTheWord.com

Welcome to our site! More than likely you found this site through a search engine as you searched for a Bible reading plan. We aim to offer that, and so much more! There are numerous sites on the web that give you a list of passages for each day of the year to read so that you start Genesis on January 1 and finish Revelation on December 25, but we do so much more to help you not only finish what you start but also deal with the reality of every day life, missed days, and resolutions that don't always occur smack dab at the beginning of a new year.

Numbers 11:24-13:33 ~ Mark 14:22-52 ~ Psalm 52:1-9 ~ Proverbs 11:1-3   There are many pivotal moments in Scripture, pivotal moments when decisions are made, whose repercussions are played out in Scripture and they are devastating.  But we get the long view of some of these and we’re able to see that God is a redeemer and that repercussions are redeemed over time no matter what.  Today we come to 2 very pivotal points in Scripture.  I mean the first huge point in Scripture where a decision was made and the repercussions were huge was Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden and the fall of mankind and sin entering the world, right?  Well, we’ve come to another point today.  We’ve been following the children of Israel.  We met the patriarchs.  We followed their lives.  We saw how the children of Israel ended up in slavery in Egypt.  We watched God deliver them and set them apart and say to them:  I am taking you to the land that I swore your forefathers to have.  All the way back to Abra [Read More]

Num 11:24-13:33 : Tuesday
Created by 'Jhoti' on Mar 9 2010

Then the LORD came down in the cloud, and spoke to him, and took of the Spirit that was upon him, and placed the same upon the seventy elders; and it happened, when the Spirit rested upon them, that they prophesied, although they never did so again.[a] (Now the man Moses was very humble, more than all men who were on the face of the earth.) Not so with My servant Moses; He is faithful in all My house. 8 I speak with him face to face, Even plainly, and not in dark sayings; And he sees the form of the LORD. And He took Peter, James, and John with Him, and He began to be troubled and deeply distressed. 34 Then He said to them, “My soul is exceedingly sorrowful, even to death. Stay here and watch.” And He said, “Abba, Father, all things are possible for You. Take this cup away from Me; nevertheless, not what I will, but what You will.” “Here is the man who did not make God his strength, But trusted in the abundance of his riches, [Read More]

Numbers 10:1-11:23 ~ Mark 14:1-21 ~ Psalm 51:1-19 ~ Proverbs 10:31-32   So this narrative in the book of Numbers is interesting today.  The children of Israel are getting sick of the manna which was delicious pastry, but I guess you eat delicious pastry enough and that’s all you eat and you get sick of anything.  So they’re sitting around the fires.  Picture it.  Picture when you are on a diet and the diet you are participating in is sort of bland and you’re talking to your friends, ‘what I wouldn’t give for a juicy steak.  What I wouldn’t give for a cupcake’.  And you’re thinking about it and you’re picturing it and you’re tasting it in your imagination.  That’s what they’re doing.  Garlic and onions, fish.  Someone on the other side of the fire says cucumbers, and the whole group says ooooh, cucumbers!  Why did we ever leave Egypt.  And they’re just sick of the manna and they’re crying out for meat.  The Lord hears their displeasure and so does Moses and he’s ticked.  God de [Read More]

Num 10:1-11:23 : Monday
Created by 'Jhoti' on Mar 8 2010

when the people complained, it displeased the LORD; for the LORD heard it, and His anger was aroused. Now the manna was like coriander seed, and its color like the color of bdellium. 8 The people went about and gathered it, ground it on millstones or beat it in the mortar, cooked it in pans, and made cakes of it; and its taste was like the taste of pastry prepared with oil. 9 And when the dew fell on the camp in the night, the manna fell on it. So the LORD said to Moses: “Gather to Me seventy men of the elders of Israel, whom you know to be the elders of the people and officers over them; bring them to the tabernacle of meeting, that they may stand there with you. 17 Then I will come down and talk with you there. I will take of the Spirit that is upon you and will put the same upon them; and they shall bear the burden of the people with you, that you may not bear it yourself alone. because you have despised the LORD who is among you, and have wept before Him, saying, “Wh [Read More]

Num 8:1-9:23 : Monday
Created by 'Jhoti' on Mar 8 2010

Now the LORD spoke to Moses in the Wilderness of Sinai, in the first month of the second year after they had come out of the land of Egypt, Passover on the fourteenth day of the first month at twilight, as long as the cloud stayed above the tabernacle they remained encamped. And pray that your flight may not be in winter. And unless the Lord had shortened those days, no flesh would be saved; but for the elect’s sake, whom He chose, He shortened the days. after that tribulation, the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; 25 the stars of heaven will fall, and the powers in the heavens will be shaken. 26 Then they will see the Son of Man coming in the clouds with great power and glory. 27 And then He will send His angels, and gather together His elect from the four winds, from the farthest part of earth to the farthest part of heaven. Take heed, watch and pray; for you do not know when the time is. Out of Zion, the perfection of beauty, Ga [Read More]

Numbers 8:1-9:23 ~ Mark 13:14-37 ~ Psalm 50:1-23 ~ Proverbs 10:29-30   Prayer:  We thank you for your clarification, Jesus, today in the book of Mark about the end and how it is we are to be found, the example of a man going away to a far country and leaving his house and authority to his servants, each to do his work and the doorkeeper to keep watch for his return.  This is how things are.  You have left us your creation and given us your authority to operate and we are commanded to be about our work for you, our Master, for your Kingdom, until you return and not to be found unready because we don’t know if it is evening or midnight, the crowing of the rooster or in the morning.  Obviously, this is something we must be prepared for at all times.  This is a way of life we have been invited into, to be the keepers of your house and utilizing your authority to get it done.  So help us.  Come Holy Spirit and guide us.  Help us not be distracted by the mechanics of life.  Help us [Read More]
