Jeremiah 6:16-8:7 ~ Colossians 2:11-23 ~ Psalm 78:1-31 ~ Proverbs 24:26

What the apostle Paul says today in the book of Colossians in a real way is what all of our hopes are pinned upon. What Christ did for us is summed up in this. God wiped out the charges that were against us for disobeying and in this case, the Law of Moses because of who he is speaking to, our sins is a broader look at this. He took them away and nailed them to the cross and on the cross Christ defeated all powers and forces. He let the whole world see them being led away as prisoners when he celebrated his victory. That is the good news. That is not something we can access on good behavior. It is not something we can earn. We cannot follow the path of Christ and do what Christ did. We follow the path of Christ behind him because of his grace and love for us and giving his victory to us freely in his mercy and grace. This is the good news. The reason that it is the good news is because it gives us permission to live. So often, especially in Western culture because marketing bashes us with problems that a product solves, we simply do not feel acceptable in any way ever about ourselves, and so we're programmed to live as if we must measure up to something. We carry this over into our relationship with God. Now on the one hand it is not a bad thing to dedicate our lives to his service as a living sacrifice, to give ourselves in love completely to him as an act of love and in adoration and gratitude for what he has done. But no matter what we do, it is not going to measure up to the gift of salvation. That is free. That gift of salvation gives us a new identity, child of God. That changes the entire dynamic of the world for the believer. It gives us permission to look at ourselves as we are, children of God. But it also shows us the senselessness of buying into the world's system, that there is nothing that we can do that is going to make us good enough unless we have every product on the market and that is hogwash.

Prayer: Our Lord Jesus, we love you. Blessed be your name. Thank you for your saving grace, for what you have given to us. We partake of it openly with all of our lives and all of our hearts. We will set our sites on things above and find our identity in you and not in some false standard placed upon us by culture. We turn our backs on those things and our faces to you and you alone. We pray these things in your holy name, your victorious name, your almighty, all capable, all powerful name, the name of Jesus. Amen.

Okay, as I said yesterday, and I'm not going to go over this every day, but if you want all the details that you can have, listen to yesterday at the end. Our moderator, Debbie, was assaulted last week. She is recovering now and we want to remember her in our prayers continually. If you want to send Debbie a card or whatever you want to send Debbie, send it to Debbie, c/o Daily Audio Bible, P.O. Box 1996, Spring Hill, TN 37174 and I'll collect all that and put it in a big box and send it off the Deb.

Alright, in other announcements. Tomorrow is the day. Tomorrow we migrate to the new website. I say that and I still can't quite believe it, but it is going to happen. Tomorrow is the day. So be prepared for that. Go to www.dailyaudiobible.com, watch the tutorials that are on the home page that will prepare you for the new website because tomorrow everything changes and I ask that you keep that in your prayers.

If you want to support the Daily Audio Bible, you can do that at the website currently or you can do it tomorrow at the new website. Or, if you prefer, the mailing address is P.O. Box 1996, Spring Hill, TN 37174. Thank you for your partnership in all of the things that God has got us doing right now, primarily bringing the spoken word of God to whoever will listen anywhere in the world.

Okay, then those of you in the UK, it looks like we will be over. It looks like we can have a Daily Audio Bible family gathering in the London area November 2. If you want to get in on that e-mail loop, get to know your fellow Daily Audio Bible family members in the UK, and get involved in where this is going to be, then e-mail me: Brian@dailyaudiobible.com and I'll assemble a list and get the discussion happening. Alright?

That’s it for today. I love you all. I'm Brian and I'll be waiting for you here tomorrow.
