2 Chronicles 17:1-18:34 ~ Romans 9:25-10:13 ~ Psalm 20:1-9 ~ Proverbs 20:2-3

Prayer:  Father, we want the mark of good character.  We don’t want to be fools.  As with everything else, we’re challenged by your word to raise the bar, to step up to what we were created to be.  All we can do is surrender our wills and our lives to get there, because it is only through your strength that we are anything.  It is only in our letting go of our agenda and our preferences that we can become who we were created to be.  So it is the mark of good character to avert quarrels, but fools love to pick fights.  We want to be people of good character.  Holy Spirit, come and show us how to live this out as we learn each day to live out what the scriptures offer.  This is what we want our lives to look like.  This is why we come here each day, to feast on your word in our hearts together.  So lead us into all truth, we ask in the precious name of Jesus, amen.

www.dailyaudiobible.com is the website.  Speaking of the website, of course, we’ve created it to be our home.  We are a virtual community so we have a virtual home, but it is a nice one.  There is a lot going on there, so come check it out.  While you’re there, you might notice that we have crafted and created groups.  So there is a men’s group.  There is a women’s group. There is a college and high school group, and then there is, of course, just the general forums and chat rooms.  But we’ve created groups for a reason.  Over the years the forums and chat rooms have been full of everyone getting together to talk, but it became clear that, you know what?  If men could come to other brothers in Christ and be able to share sort of without open company what is going on in their lives, it could be beneficial, very helpful.  Same with women.  If women could find other sisters, a sisterhood even, fellowship with each other, carry one another’s burdens, cry on each other’s shoulders, this would be beneficial.  High school and college years are so pivotal and so foundational and formational.  We created a group for that as well, where people like-minded can come and share.

So we have these groups that are available as well as the general discussions that are constantly going on.  It is easy enough for you to get into a group.  Go to Community and once you click Community, you’ll find what you’re looking for.  You’ll find men or women or college or whatever.  Go into that section and click that you want to be in the group.  It can take a day sometimes.  Usually it doesn’t.  But each one of those applications…its not really an application because you just click a button, but in the infrastructure of the back office of the website, that is what it is.  Those are hand approved.  We verify who you are, who you say that you are so that there aren’t men in the women’s group and women in the men’s group and so on and so forth.  But the groups are a fantastic way to go deeper in community with each other.  I recommend it greatly.

You know what?  The day after tomorrow is the 28th of July and the 28th of July is WindFarm Life.  We will be having Dr. Neil Anderson who is the author of many bestselling books including The Bondage Breaker and Victory over Darkness and, of course, Restored which is a book we just went through as a community here.  He’ll be joining me on WindFarm Live to talk about our freedom in Christ and taking your calls where you can share your stories and ask your questions.  So from 7-9 p.m. Central time.  Of course, that is a different time all over the world, but there is a banner on the home page of the Daily Audio Bible that kind of breaks down major time zones around the world.  So go there and check it out and you can find out when this is happening in your area.  But this all happening live and you’ll be able to call in on an 800 number, and talk to Neil and the chat room will be open as well.  I expect hundreds to be there like there always are.  So we use the technology partner called Blog Talk Radio.  So this isn’t happening at the Daily Audio Bible website, although you can link to it from the Daily Audio Bible website.  You’re going to need a little ID to Blog Talk Radio if you want to chat and etcetera and listen from there.  So just clicking that banner at www.dailyaudiobible.com will take you over to the Daily Audio Bible channel at Blog Talk Radio and you can register from there.  So, by all means, do that in advance so that you don’t miss anything.  If you think, well, I’ll just do that when it starts, you’ll probably wish that you had done it ahead of time, honestly.  Because it takes a few minutes to figure it out.  So you may want to go over there in advance and just know the lay of the land.  But we’re really looking forward to that.  I am deeply looking forward to a community get-together.  Those are a blast.  It is fun during the show and after the show is over, the chat rooms stay open and people talk and fellowship with each other for another hour or two.  It is just…well, you have to experience it to know what I’m talking about.  It’s a lot of fun.  So plan on that the day after tomorrow.

Tomorrow is the last day in California, but it is not a full day.  So today we will be coming in off the coast down into the Los Angeles area and then tomorrow flying back to Nashville.  So thank you for your prayers.  This has been very fruitful and will be fantastically useful in the development of resources that are coming up for next year.  So wonderful.  Once again, and I said this before I ever left, but once again, those of you who have e-mailed me, and I’ve gotten a lot of e-mails even along the way…man!  I know there are a lot of you in California that listen to the Daily Audio Bible and nothing would make me more happy than to just stop off and have coffee with each one of you all along the way.  This particular trip, that was not possible.  I will come back with the express intention of just having a couple of family gatherings.  That is already sort of on the table.  So we will meet and I am sorry that just couldn’t be this time, but it will be.  I look forward to it deeply.

Alright, thank you again for your prayers.  If you have a prayer request or comment, (877) 942-4253 is the number to call.  Then, as always, if you want to partner with the Daily Audio Bible, you can do that at the website or, if you prefer, the mailing address is P.O. Box 1996, Spring Hill, TN 37174.

That’s it for today.  I love you.  I’m Brian.  I’ll be waiting for you here tomorrow.

Prayer Requests:

Hi Daily Audio Bible family.  This is Daniel calling from Singapore.  I thank God for the ministry.  I thank God for all of you, the family in Christ.  I would just like to make a request, a prayer request.  It is regarding my mother-in-law.  She has been diagnosed with advanced pancreatic cancer and it has spread to the stomach and the bones.  God has been gracious and has granted her many months after the chemotherapy.  The recent results that have not been very encouraging because the cancer marker has doubled and is still growing.  Her name is Madentay.  We would just like to take your prayers to the Lord and ask for healing and, most importantly, for her to have a closer encounter with God, for her to know him better and look her eyes on eternity and at the same time we also would just like to pray for the family to be comforted.  She is a wonderful lady and is very loved by the children.  The children are feeling the pain and feeling the loss right now.  We just hope that the greater family in Christ can come together and just pray and hope that the Lord will do what we wish to do and may God’s will be done.  Thank you so much once again for this podcast and this wonderful ministry.  It has certainly helped a lot and we thank you.  God bless.

Hi DAB family.  This is Kimberly from Maryland and I am calling in with a request.  I have a friend who I’ve prayed for on this line before and you guys lifted up Marianne for me.  Because of those prayers and because of the effectiveness of those prayers, she has more confidence in us as a community and has asked that a friend of hers whose name is Jane Mary Hogan, who is in a hospice at this point and does not want to live, be lifted up in prayer, that she would have the will to live as well as it is unclear whether or not she knows the Lord or not.  So this is Kimberly.  I’m lifting up this prayer again for Jane Mary Hogan, that she would live out her days as God has planned for her to live them out and not go back from that.  So thank you family.  I love hearing the prayer requests for everyone.  I do pray.  I love being part of this community.  Bye.

Good morning, Daily Audio Bible.  My name is Bernadette.  I’m from Minnesota.  I am calling for the first time. I’ve been listening to the Daily Audio Bible going on two years now.  I’m a little bit behind this year, but I’m calling in for your prayers.  I really need you guys to really pray for my son.  He is moving to Arizona.  He is following his girlfriend who had left three weeks earlier.  She has left her children with him, her two children, while she is supposed to be going up there looking for a job.  When she left she said she had a job.  There is no job.  She has not found one.  He is on his way up there with her children.  He will be leaving tomorrow.  I looked at her Facebook and she has met someone else in Arizona.  So she is really leading my son astray and I am asking you guys if you could please agree with me that God would intervene and stop this process or give my son a better way out and that he does not go to Arizona because I feel like there is trouble when he gets there.  So I’m asking the Daily Audio Bible, could you please pray for my son and pray that God will intervene in his way, which only he can do.  Thank you.  I love you, Daily Audio Bible family.  Talk to you later.  Bye-bye.

As I ponder the phrase, "Create a Clean Heart in Me", these things stand out to me: "Create a Clean Heart" As the fourth verse indicates, sin is always ultimately against God. Even one's sin in a lateral sense, towards others, is always ultimately against God - because He is the Creator and Sustainer of all things. Having said that, however, sin wreaks havoc with our heart! Like rust on an automobile, and a limb eaten away with a deadly disease, it can never be restored to what it had b...[More]

Ah! Here God shares His heart about one of the basic struggles of leadership – keeping those who follow and have appreciated our example, from making their love for us into something robotic, mechanical, unresponsive, unfeeling, humorless, unemotional, cold, lifeless, boring, dull, and uninteresting! As I wrote in an earlier journal entry, Jesus modeled an excellent plan to keep love alive, by using his last meal with his disciples on earth to actually picture his sacrifice of love, in obedienc...[More]

How can I be a godly leader? That's the question of the disucussion I'm leading on our church's high school youth group tomorrow morning. This is the third lesson in a series of four, and I haven't been present for the first two lessons, nor do I have the materials to look back and see what they covered. So first things first, I want to walk through down the road of where we've been so far. After that, I want to pose the questions, "should we all be leaders," and "is leadership something we ...[More]

Ecclesiastes 4:1-6:12 ~ 2 Corinthians 6:14-7:7 ~ Psalm 47:1-9 ~ Proverbs 22:16   Prayer:  Father, we come before you as we contemplate Ecclesiastes again.  As we consider the three-stranded cord is not easily broken, as we consider that two are better than one, that one may assault another and overtake him, but he will not be able to take two, help us to remember that we are in community.  That we are your body and together we can withstand the onslaughts of the evil one intended to kill, s...[More]
