2 Chronicles 19:1-20:37 ~ Romans 10:14-11:12 ~ Psalm 21:1-13 ~ Proverbs 20:4-6

Wow, those are three amazing sayings and that is the nature of the proverbs.  They have this ability to in one sentence to say a goldmine of truth.  Just think of the ones today alone.

A farmer too lazy to plant in the spring has nothing to harvest in the fall.

Alright, if you’re not going to sow, you’re not going to reap.  Right?  What you sow, you will reap.  So by the farmer not sowing at all, he reaped what he sowed.  Nothing.  This couldn’t be a truer statement of how life works in one sentence than I’ve ever heard.

The next one, knowing what is right is like deep water in the heart.  A wise person draws from the well within.

Again, no truer thing has been said.  Knowing what is right comes from our relationship with Christ and is continually informed by the guidance of the Holy Spirit in our lives.  A deep well from within, to be sure the deepest of wells, and a wise person will draw from that well.

You see on and on we could break down every verse of the proverbs and they are that rich.  I mean, they are rich enough to sit and contemplate and chew on each one of them.  This is why there is a Daily Audio Proverb companion to the Daily Audio Bible.  It goes through a chapter of proverbs each day, so going through the book of proverbs once per month.  It is a five minute investment, although if you chew on it, who knows how long it will take you to chew on the wisdom.  But it is a five minute investment to pour it into your soul.  We began the Daily Audio Proverb in 2007, but it was after that first year that I realized, the way that we do the Daily Audio Bible, it allows us the space to just chew on a proverb like we’ve done today, and yet there is so much wisdom.  This is something that should be repetitive, so the Daily Audio Proverb was created to allow us to continually go deeper into the wisdom of all ages.  So I invite you.  If you aren’t participating already in the Daily Audio Proverb, by all means, jump over there and get involved and pour that into your life.

Prayer:  Father, we thank you for your wisdom.  We thank you for revealing it to us in your word.  On every page we are challenged and encouraged and cheered on and loved on.  You love us.  You’ve left your word to reveal yourself to us.  You’ve sent your Holy Spirit to illuminate your word and our paths.  So we invite that.  We love you and we trust you.  We adore you and we thank you.  Our words fall flat.  We give it our best shot to worship you.  I know they don’t fall flat to you, but they are so inadequate to who you are.  Words fail us.  We don’t have the vocabulary to worship you as you deserve.  We don’t have the capacity to worship you as you deserve, but we still give you our praise and worship.  We love you.  We thank you for coming for us.  We pray this offering of praise in the name of Jesus.  Amen.

www.dailyaudiobible.com is the website.  I just mentioned the Daily Audio Proverb.  There are other companion programs to the Daily Audio Bible as well, depending on what language you speak.  There is the Daily Audio Bible en Espanol, so going through the scriptures in a year in Spanish in community, Daily Audio Bible Hindi, Daily Audio Bible Japanese, and then Daily Audio Bible Kids, going through the New Testament by kids for kids, and the kids have their own community at www.dailyaudiobiblekids.com.  It’s a beautiful thing to watch.  So if any of that applies to a need that you have or that you know someone who could benefit from them, then pass the word along.

Let’s see, tomorrow…I’m trying to think how to do this.  This is the last day from California, so we’re going back today to Nashville in just a little bit.  Tomorrow night is WindFarm Live.  So that will be broadcast from Nashville and we will be having Dr. Neil Anderson as our guest.  So from 7-9 p.m. Central Time.  Like I’ve been saying all along, if you go to the website, there is a banner at the top that will open up and it will give you major cities and major time zones around the world so you can figure out when this is happening for you.  But it will be 7-9 p.m. Central Time, which is the time zone that I live in and that we broadcast from each day.

So we’ll be talking about Restored.  We’ll be talking about freedom in Christ and taking your calls with your stories and your questions for Neil.  He has been gracious enough.  This was the only day he could do this within the next six weeks basically, so he has been gracious enough to actually modify his travel plans to be with us.  So let’s plan to be there.  It is always a good time.

We use the technology partner called www.BlogTalkRadio.com for this service.  So click the banner at Daily Audio Bible and it will take you over to the Daily Audio Bible channel on Blog Talk.  When the program starts, there will be a chat room.  Actually before it starts, there will be this chat room.  Usually there are hundreds in there.  But to chat, you have to have a little ID at Blog Talk Radio.  Get that in advance.  They are not going to spam you.  It doesn’t cost anything.  It is nothing like that.  It is just a matter of you having an identification there.  So do that in advance or you’ll be fumbling around trying to figure out how to get in after it has already started.  So I am looking forward to being with you live tomorrow night.

If you want to partner with the Daily Audio Bible, you can do that at the website.  There is a link on the home page that will let you do that or, if you prefer, the mailing address is P.O. Box 1996, Spring Hill, TN 37174.

If you have a prayer request or comment, (877) 942-4253 is the number to call.

Love you.  Thanks for your prayers while we’re here in California.  I’m Brian and I'll be waiting for you here tomorrow from the rolling hills of Tennessee.

Prayer Requests:

My name is Eric.  I’m calling from Denver, CO.  I’ve listened to DAB for about three years now.  Brian, I want to tell you that it is awesome.  I love to listen to it.  I listen to it every morning on my way to work and just getting ready to start it off right.  I have a prayer request, though, for a friend of mine I went to high school with.  Her name is Rhonda.  She lives in Southern Missouri.  The doctors have found a 3-1/2 inch brain tumor that she has and she is going in, today is July 6, she goes in for surgery on Monday.  They are going to try to cut the blood supply off to try to kill the tumor and then Wednesday they have to drill a 3-1/2 inch hole in her skull to try to pull the tumor out.  The doctor seems to think it is a fairly common tumor.  However, it is larger than what they see, I believe.  So she is having some trouble right now.  There is a very real possibility that between now and Monday, which is five days from now, that she could have a stroke and even after they go in there and cut the blood supply off, there is a real chance that she could have a stroke.  Right now the tumor is pushing everything to one side of her head, so it is affecting her speech and it is just not a pleasant situation, but I am confident.  I know that God is able to heal.  I’ve seen it done.  I’ve seen tumors healed from friends in the past and I just want to pray and ask the DAB family to lift Rhonda up.  I know this will probably be played after her surgery, but as stated so often, God reaches across time and takes care of the need.  I just want to lift Rhonda up and ask the family to pray for her.  Thanks for praying.  I do pray for the needs I hear each morning when I’m listing to the DAB on the way to work and I just am so pleased that I have a family that will remember my prayer needs as I remember theirs.  Thanks family.  Have a great day.  I thank you, Brian, for the Daily Audio Bible.  Thank you.  Goodbye.

Hello Daily Audio Bible family.  This is Christopher James in Cincinnati, OH.  I just wanted to call and share a praise report and just how much this community means to me.  Brian, dude, you’re awesome.  I just thank you so much for obeying the Lord’s call in your life and starting this ministry.  It has been such a huge blessing in my life.  I can’t thank you enough.  Today is July 7.  Today is the Long Walk.  I’m just getting up and getting going here.  I’m in college.  I go to Cincinnati Christian University.  I just finished my public speaking class.  I had to do two speeches.  I had to give an informative speech to inform my classmates about something and I chose to do my speech on human trafficking.  I felt the Lord had placed that on my heart to spread the awareness and what better place to do it than a Christian college?  I just praise God for putting that on my heart and helping me put the right words together and it went really well.  For my persuasive speech, I wrote a speech on persuading my fellow classmates to try…to check out the Daily Audio Bible.  That went really well as well.  I passed out the flyers that you can get online and I just shared what it is and what it has done in my life and how God has used it and is using it in my life and in so many other people’s.  What a blessing it has been.  Already a couple of people have joined in listening to the scriptures every day.  Praise God.  Praise God for this community.  It is just an awesome thing, using modern technology for good instead of worldly things.  I just praise him.  This is amazing, as you all know.  So I just wanted to call and share about that and thank you for listening.  I hope everybody has a good Long Walk.  I am sure I will.  I will see you guys later.  Alright.  Love you family.  Bye.

Isaiah 1:1-2:22 ~ 2 Corinthians 10:1-18 ~ Psalm 52:1-9 ~ Proverbs 22:26-27   So David is speaking here and he says God’s justice continues forever.  Don’t you realize that?  It is a foreboding statement in the context.  Yet, as we read it today, I thought, well, that is actually a very, very good thing.  That is incredibly good news.  God’s justice continues on forever because Christ’s sacrifice once and for all paid the penalty of sin, set the scales right.  It was the just thing.  He, as sin...[More]

"When did I become a leader?" I had that question asked to me via text message last night by a teenage friend of mine. I had mentioned to her about how a little prayer ministry she was championing didn't have anybody except little old me show up this past week while she had been away. "But I don't want people doing something just because I want them to do it," she said. "I want them to want to do it themselves!" How common is that desire in the heart of so many people. We find something we a...[More]

As I ponder the phrase, "Create a Clean Heart in Me", these things stand out to me: "Create a Clean Heart" As the fourth verse indicates, sin is always ultimately against God. Even one's sin in a lateral sense, towards others, is always ultimately against God - because He is the Creator and Sustainer of all things. Having said that, however, sin wreaks havoc with our heart! Like rust on an automobile, and a limb eaten away with a deadly disease, it can never be restored to what it had b...[More]

Ah! Here God shares His heart about one of the basic struggles of leadership – keeping those who follow and have appreciated our example, from making their love for us into something robotic, mechanical, unresponsive, unfeeling, humorless, unemotional, cold, lifeless, boring, dull, and uninteresting! As I wrote in an earlier journal entry, Jesus modeled an excellent plan to keep love alive, by using his last meal with his disciples on earth to actually picture his sacrifice of love, in obedienc...[More]
