2 Chronicles 21:1-23:21 ~ Romans 11:13-36 ~ Psalm 22:1-18 ~ Proverbs 20:7

God loyal people living honest lives

make it much easier for their children.  Prov. 20:7

Yeah, that is a powerful proverb as well.  This speaks to something that we’ve been talking about throughout this month so far, the idea of our heritage, the idea that we are the caretakers of the Kingdom at this point in history, and that we will pass it on.  Remember when we talked about David and his preparation for Solomon to be able to build the Temple.  David left the Kingdom in fantastic condition to pass it on to Solomon.  He had amassed a great amount of resources not only for the Kingdom, but for the building of the Temple and that was our example of how we too do the same thing.  We pass on the baton of history into the hands of the present, and the emerging generation takes over and leads and passes it on.  This happens in our individual families.  This happens in our communities.  And this happens in the Kingdom of God on earth.  God loyal people living honest lives make it much easier for their children.

Prayer:  Father, this is our heart’s cry.  We have lived years of self-absorption, inwardly looking, trying to make things better for ourselves, trying to work on ourselves by blaming others for our failure.  We’ve psychoanalyzed and processed and dug deep and the healing that we seek can only come from you.  You are the only one who can heal a broken heart.  Because of this self-absorption, we have often forgot that more is at stake than our wellbeing.  The future is at stake.  You have bestowed upon us the authority of heaven and told us, commissioned us to go into all the world and preach the gospel.  We have not done this.  Forgive us.  We have not served you in thought, word, and deed.  So we ask, Lord, have mercy.  We ask for your strength, Holy Spirit, and your guidance as we allow you access to the inner parts of our lives so that you can heal us and so that we can rise up and be the people we were created to be and march forward, amassing the resources necessary to pass off to the coming generation, both our children and our children’s children and the emerging generation the Kingdom.  It says in proverbs, God loyal people living honest lives make it much easier for their children.  This is what we want to be.  God loyal people living honest lives.  Lead us in that path, Jesus.  We ask in your name.  Amen.

www.dailyaudiobible.com is the website.  Of course, the website, you know…I mean I talk about it every single day.  There is a reason for that.  Because there are new people every day.  But aside from that, I want to pound it home, it is our home.  Those of you who are a part of this community, this family.  This is our home.  So whether you are a big internet person, whether you are a big forums person or a chat room person, whatever, that is really not the point.  Just check in, see what is going on.  Have an open heart to what God would have you do in the community as we continue to grow.  Come check out the website and say hello.

There are other ways to stay connected besides the website.  We do have a Facebook Fan Page.  That has been fantastic!  A fantastic way to stay connected.  So if you are a Facebook user, who isn’t, I guess?  I really kind of resisted it, but everyone seems to be on Facebook, so we have a Facebook Fan Page.  Fan up and then pass the word out to all your friends to fan up as well and become familiar and associated with the Daily Audio Bible, with the word of God in our lives each day.  We have a Twitter account so you can follow our tweets if you want.  We have a You Tube page.  You can subscribe to that channel.  Then we have a Flickr page that shows you visually photographs from inside the events that are happening in the Daily Audio Bible community, like I put a bunch of pictures up from California, just stuff that I can snap from my phone and just upload so that you can kind of follow the trips.  I did that in Africa.  We do that all the time.  So that is another way to stay connected.  One way or the other, dial in to the community that God has raised up among us.

Alright, tonight 7-9 p.m. Central Standard Time, that is a different time depending on what time zone you are in, but there is a banner on the home page that will help you with that.  Tonight will be WindFarm Live and so the chat room will probably open up about 6:30 Central Time-ish and from 7-9 we will have Dr. Neil Anderson on where we will talk about freedom in Christ.  We have just completed the Restored class for this year, and Neil, of course, wrote this book as well as other bestselling books like The Bondage Breaker and Victory Over Darkness.  You can call in, share your stories, ask your questions, and spend a couple hours together just fellowshipping.

If you want to jump into the chat rooms, that is always a blast.  You need an account at www.BlogTalkRadio.com, which is our technology partner for this.  It doesn’t cost money.  They don’t spam you.  That is not it.  It is just an ID so that you can log in and chat.  Click the banner on the home page of the Daily Audio Bible website for the event tonight and it will take you to the Daily Audio Bible channel on Blog Talk and then you can register from there.  Do it in advance.  If you plan to do it at 7, you are going to waste a bunch of time trying to figure it out as the event is going on.  So do it in advance.  Man, I really look forward to this!  The times that we have done this in the past have been fun.  We sort of have the pre-chat and then we do the show and then afterward the chat room stays open for another hour or two and people just continue to talk and fellowship.  It is really, really a cool experience.  So I look forward to seeing you this very evening.

If you want to partner with the Daily Audio Bible, you can do that at the website as well.  There is a link right on the home page that takes you through that process.  I thank you for your faithfulness.  From the bottom of my heart, I thank you for your faithfulness.  The Daily Audio Bible started with nothing and it has never been anything but a family affair.  It has never been anything but something that we’ve done together.  So if this enriches your life, then thank you for your partnership.  If you prefer, the mailing address is P.O. Box 1996, Spring Hill, TN 37174.

If you have a prayer request or comment, of course the number to call is (877) 942-4253.

Okie dokie.  That’s it for today.  I look forward to seeing you tonight.  I love you.  I’m Brian and I'll be waiting for you here tomorrow.

Prayer Requests:

Hello.  My name is Linda from Minnesota and the Lord has put a burden on my heart to call for all the wives out there that are praying for their husbands to be the spiritual leader in their homes or to just come to know the Lord.  Specifically, I just listened to the July 7 podcast and I don’t remember his first name, but his last name was Davis and I just want to give you some encouragement and some hope from a testimony of mine.  I prayed for many years for my husband.  There is a wonderful book out there called A Wife’s Prayer by Pamela Hines.  It is all scriptural prayer.  It is a daily prayer out of the book of Psalms.  It was very difficult the first time I read the book and prayed the prayers because you are praying prophetically.  You are praying what God has already planned for your husband even though he may not be that person yet.  It was difficult for me at first because I felt like I was lying to the Lord, but I followed through and I was obedient and I actually, once I learned that God wants to pray his promises as they are in heaven, not as they are on earth, it was much easier to go through it the second time.  I can tell you my husband knows the Lord now.  He has a relationship with him and he is not the same person.  I know that is by no power of my own but only by the power of the Holy Spirit and just taking God for his word.  He wants our husbands to be his and he wants them to be the spiritual leaders in our homes.  Just keep praying.  Pray for your husband as it is in heaven, as God wants it.  I would recommend…you can just go through the Psalms yourself and just claim those promises or if you would like something that is a little more guided, A Wife’s Prayer by Pamela Hines.  I’m pretty sure that is her last name, but lifting up all the husbands out there.  I believe God is rising them up and he is doing a mighty work.  So God bless you all.

Hello Daily Audio Bible family.  My name is Helene and I’m calling today because I’ve been having a lot of issues myself.  Earlier this year, on my birthday actually, I was hit by a car.  God blessed…you know, today I’m still alive, but mentally and emotionally it has affected me a lot and I’m feeling like it has kind of messed me up, my relationships in my life with my family and my boyfriend and I just feel like I need more support.  My family and my brother did so much for me and comfort me __________.  I don’t know what else to say.  It has been…__________ has been on my mind.  I’ve been feeling like the accident has ruined my plans for the year.  I’m trying to come to terms that it is all part of God’s plan.  I’m thankful every day that I’m alive, but sometimes it is really hard to break through.  I try to push through and try to understand how things are now after the accident.  I didn’t have any physical injuries aside from a slight scar on the back of my head and, you know, really I understand that I was very fortunate with what had happened.  So I guess that is all I have to say for now.  I need somebody who can find the time to _______________.

As I ponder the phrase, "Create a Clean Heart in Me", these things stand out to me: "Create a Clean Heart" As the fourth verse indicates, sin is always ultimately against God. Even one's sin in a lateral sense, towards others, is always ultimately against God - because He is the Creator and Sustainer of all things. Having said that, however, sin wreaks havoc with our heart! Like rust on an automobile, and a limb eaten away with a deadly disease, it can never be restored to what it had b...[More]

Ah! Here God shares His heart about one of the basic struggles of leadership – keeping those who follow and have appreciated our example, from making their love for us into something robotic, mechanical, unresponsive, unfeeling, humorless, unemotional, cold, lifeless, boring, dull, and uninteresting! As I wrote in an earlier journal entry, Jesus modeled an excellent plan to keep love alive, by using his last meal with his disciples on earth to actually picture his sacrifice of love, in obedienc...[More]

How can I be a godly leader? That's the question of the disucussion I'm leading on our church's high school youth group tomorrow morning. This is the third lesson in a series of four, and I haven't been present for the first two lessons, nor do I have the materials to look back and see what they covered. So first things first, I want to walk through down the road of where we've been so far. After that, I want to pose the questions, "should we all be leaders," and "is leadership something we ...[More]

Ecclesiastes 4:1-6:12 ~ 2 Corinthians 6:14-7:7 ~ Psalm 47:1-9 ~ Proverbs 22:16   Prayer:  Father, we come before you as we contemplate Ecclesiastes again.  As we consider the three-stranded cord is not easily broken, as we consider that two are better than one, that one may assault another and overtake him, but he will not be able to take two, help us to remember that we are in community.  That we are your body and together we can withstand the onslaughts of the evil one intended to kill, s...[More]
